Miley Cyrus' 'Hannah Montana' movie song too easy for 'X Factor' champ

When it comes to "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus, some songs are certainly more popular for mainstream audiences than others. One of these such songs is "The Climb," a song from her "Hannah" movie that has become so omnipresent that it is used as an audition song by more reality show hopefuls than we can count.

However, last year the song was also used as something a bit more significant -- a coronation song for "X Factor" champ Joe McElderry. This year, Matt Cardle won the British singing competition -- and suffice it to say he is happy that he's not having to sing along to Miley:

"I'm very wary of doing covers ... I mean with Miley Cyrus' The Climb, you can kind of [be terrible at] a Miley Cyrus song and not many people are going to care because fans of The Climb by Miley Cyrus are children.

"They are not going to be like 'Oh god, I can't believe they've done a cover', but when it comes to Biffy Clyro [who Cardle covered], they have a hardcore, die-hard fanbase and are a hugely credible band. You can't [mess] around with one of their songs."

In conclusion, what Cardle seems to be saying here is that covering "The Climb" is a bit of an easy road out, while taking on a more challenging song allows him to express more creativity and appeal to a larger audience.

Do you agree or have a problem with what Cardle is saying here? Because I think it's stupid and very unreasonable. Leave your comments below and share with us.
