Billy Ray Cyrus may think that Hannah Montana destroyed his family. But he seems to be picking up where the Disney series left off.
After mouthing off to GQ about the perils of being Miley Cyrus' papa, the mullet enthusiast has again spoken out, this time in the wake of his View appearance that wasn't, and is once more in damage mode. Er, make that healing mode.
Turns out, this whole thing was just one big misunderstanding!
"It is very important to me to work on mending my family right now," Cyrus told People, going on to say that he had no idea his comments blasting the series that made their family millionaires (along with Miley's handlers and the Disney corporation at large) would ruffle so many feathers.
Or as he put it, his comments were "explosive, and unintentionally so."
"My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier."
Which means no more interviews. After this one, presumably.
Which may explain (because he still hasn't) why he was long booked to appear on The View last week, only to be quietly removed from the talk show's schedule in the wake of his magazine spread. Rumor had it Miley pulled the trigger to prevent her old man from further biting the hand that fed them, but no one from camp Cyrus—or camp View—is talking on the record.
But no matter. For now, Billy Ray is spending time with estranged wife Tish (he filed for divorce last fall) and their daughter Noah in Los Angeles. So are they all just one big happy family again?
"It is all a learning process, and we thank everyone for their support and respect of our privacy as we sort through very important family issues," he told People.
We'll take that as a no.
