Miley Cyrus Denies She's Gone Off The Rails

Miley Cyrus has hit out at those who believe she is a "good girl gone bad".

The former Hannah Montana star left her Disney roots behind with a racy photo spread in Vanity Fair in 2008 and caused a scandal last year when she was photographed smoking a salvia bong.

But the 18-year-old insisted she hasn’t gone off the rails – she’s just growing up.

She told Prestige: "People have very mixed opinions on me. I'm a great model, or I'm completely inappropriate for anyone under 13 and I'm very controversial. I don't know how I became this. I'm not some crazy lady who's gone off the deep end, because I definitely haven't. Every 18-year-old explores sexuality and experiments and tries things. For me there's no reason to change that. I stay in the house pretty much every day. I don't go out. I've had the same boyfriend [Liam Hemsworth] for two years."

Finding that she has much in common with her musical idol, Miley Cyrus recently met up with iconic rocker Joan Jett for a gush-filled interview with V magazine.
While "The Climb" songstress admitted to having nerves before their initial introduction, she quickly delved into the reasons why she nominated Joan for the September "Heroes" edition of the publication.


"People see me as this perfect Disney star, and the moment I put out a record that says 'I'm not 11 years old anymore,' people look down on me. That's why I have always looked up [to] you. When you came out people were shocked that there was a chick that wanted to rock as hard as the guys," Miley told Joan/
Jett then told Cyrus in return, "I was thinking to myself ... how difficult it must be to lead your life as a teenager with the paparazzi and the amount of press you're surrounded by. I thought to myself, 'Wow that was kind of a blessing that we didn't have that stuff when I was growing up in The Runaways.' "
Miley later added, "I love that you never apologized for who you were. It's something I had to learn. ... I'm sick of feeling as if I owe someone an apology for being who I am."

Miley Cyrus Beats Demi Lovato As Teen Queen In Boston

Boston’s Kiss FM held a contest for Teen Queen award and they had you vote for your favorites. They featured current and past starlets in their contest, which is always fun. However, the current teen stars beats out the former and their final two became Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. Both came very close to winning, but the Miley fans out voted Demi’s, making Miley the teen queen for Boston.
I am shocked that Demi was out voted! Her fans have been a force to mess with this past year, but I suppose Miley’s fans have kept at their obsession as well. Neither girls did badly and at least they actually made the list, unlike some of their fellow counter parts before them. I do think that Demi is just much of a winner as Miley is in this contest, but I do think that Miley’s fans likely pushed harder for more votes at least in this case. However, both girls should be considered about equal in the level of popularity.
Who do you think is a real teen queen? They always seem to change ever so often, so I cannot really say. I think it is more of a generational kind of thing, like those who grew up the 90s had Britney Spears. While those in the 80s had Tiffany or Debbie Gibson. So to vote for one winner is moot on a few levels. Either way we can say that all of these ladies listed were or are a teen queen in one way or another.

American singer-actress Miley Cyrus reportedly gets a new tattoo of Hindu religious symbol Om on her right wrist.

Cyrus is known to get tattoos in the past when she felt passionate about something. She reportedly already had 'karma' tattooed on her right index finger. She has reportedly said in the past, “I could never get a meaningless tattoo.”

Apparently expressing belief into the concept of reincarnation, Cyrus’ July 17 Tweet said: Dear Universe, For my next life can I please come back as some form of marine life? Such a great day. The water makes me feel so free :)

Welcoming Cyrus’ interest in Om and other concepts/symbols of Hinduism, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, urged her to go beyond the fashion statement and explore the rich philosophical thought which Hinduism offered. He or other Hindu scholars would gladly provide the Hinduism resources helpful in her exploration and comprehensive understanding of Hinduism, Zed said.

Rajan Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, further said that Hollywood celebrities needed to have more patience and go beyond the superficial because Hinduism concepts evolved over thousands of years and needed deep study. Zed urged Cyrus to visit a nearby Hindu temple to have firsthand experience of Hinduism.

There seems to be a fascination for tattoos depicting things Hindu among celebrities, and tattoo parlor owners are reportedly seeing a surge of interest in Hindu deities, concepts, and Sanskrit verses. “Om” seems to be the most popular of such tattoos, followed by shlokas (verses) from ancient Hindu scriptures, dating back up to around 1500 BCE.

Some of the celebrities who sport Sanskrit/Hindu tattoos reportedly include Grammy winner singer-model Rihanna, MTV winner actress Jessica Alba (Sin City), musician Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), singer-actress Brandy Norwood (Moesha), dancer-singer Kimberly Wyatt (Pussycat Dolls), actress-singer Alyssa Milano (Who’s the Boss), footballer David Beckham, Golden Globe winner actress Gillian Anderson (The X Files), British footballer Theo Walcott, etc.

“Om”, the mystical syllable containing the universe, is used in Hinduism to introduce and conclude religious work. Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about one billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal. Sanskrit is considered a sacred language, the language of the gods. Tattoos go back in history to at least since Neolithic times.

Miley’s Om tattoo is the latest fad

American singer Miley Cyrus seems to have made the Om symbol cool among the city’s youngsters. After 18-year-old Cyrus got the symbol inked on her right wrist last month, tattoo parlours in the Capital say   there’s been a rise in the number of people asking for the same tattoo.

“In the past week alone, several people have requested for this tattoo. In order to get the exact design, some young girls have also shown me pictures of Miley’s tattoo,” says tattoo artist Raju Pandey, of tattoo parlour Funky Monkey, Gurgaon.
“I usually do around seven tattoos a day, of which three have been Om tattoos in the past two weeks” says Abhishek Ahuja of Naughty Needles in Karol Bagh. “Not just Om, a lot of youngsters are asking for other religious symbols as well,” says tattoo artist Aditi Naithani of Ink Cherry, Green Park.

Miley becomes an undercover agent as a college student in a sorority, to protect a fellow “sister” in the sorority. Miley’s character, despite being a real badass, had to take on the role of being a preppy sorority girl, which naturally would lead to some hilarious scenes. Miley looked fabulous throughout the movie with perfect hair and perfect clothes. It was surprising to see Miley in so much pink! The movie had a Syndey White feel to it and due to the nature of the humor in it, is most likely going to be rated PG-13. The romantic interest, Nicholas, was adorable and charming, and they shared many…”cute”…moments. Kelly Osbourne’s character was hilarious and one of our favorite performances in the movie. Megan Park did a great job with depicting the “dumb blonde” southern sorority girl cliche. Miley was natural. I notice in Hannah montana she over acts but in this movie not so much. And the movie should be coming out in October.

Is it true?’ But no, the rumors weren’t true.” However, that doesn’t stop him from gushing about Miley!
“She’s very hardworking. She’s like a 30-year-old in her mind. She made [over] $20 million last year, but she’s very down to earth and very humble,” revealed Douglas.
He goes on to tell a specific story about how grounded Miley is. “You know, she broke her iPhone and her mom wouldn’t give her a new one, and Miley was like, ‘Oh gosh, how much is that gonna cost?’ And I’m like, ‘Um, sorry?’ She doesn’t waste her money at all.”
In fact, Douglas commends her for being more down-to-earth than he would be with her wealth! “She drives a Hybrid… as opposed to having a fleet of cars like I would. I’m not going to lie.”

Miley Cyrus is repeated fed up of hearing her pop hit Party in the U.S

The American songstress attended a private party in Chicago for high street retailer Topshop on Wednesday. The 18-year-old star hung out in the DJ booth with DJ Kiss, where she requested some songs.
According to the New York Post, Miley asked that some of her owns tracks be played – as long as Party in the U.S.A. wasn’t on the listing.
The DJ played a small selection of the Disney star’s hits, including Can’t Be Tamed. The star enjoyed listening to the songs along with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and her mother Tish, who had accompanied her to the party.
“Liam was sitting down while Miley was dancing playfully and seductively. Nothing too over the top, though, as she was under the watchful eye of her mom,” a partygoer told the publication.
“There was a very relaxed, good energy.”
Miley is known for her bubblegum pop hits, after achieving wide fame for her role as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on Disney sitcom Hannah Montana.
Party in the USA was Miley’s best-selling single from her 2009 album The Time of Our Lives. It was a critical and commercial success, reaching the top ten of charts in eight countries and certified quadruple platinum.

New Poll Asks: Is Miley Cyrus Better Role Model Than Selena Gomez?

Miley Cyrus has long been criticized for what many consider her hyper sexualized dress and demeanor. In fact, the former Hannah Montana star's performances are often unfavorably reviewed because of her sexuality instead of her singing. She is repeatedly vilified as a terrible role model for young women. But is she? Or is Cyrus' open and honest approach to her sexuality and to human sexuality in general healthier and more mature than Selena Gomez' cutesy pie coyness or Taylor Swift's long-suffering lovelorn persona.

Although many people were aghast at 18-year-old adult Miley Cyrus' sexual honesty in her recent Prestige Magazine interview, some members of the media described her stance as "mature and honest." As Miley herself put it:

"Every 18-year-old explores sexuality and experiments and tries things. For me there's no reason to change that. You have to be true to yourself."

That is absolutely true. Furthermore, no one would expect an 18-year-old man to change, repress, or deny his sexuality. Not to mention the fact that Miley, who's been with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth for 2 years lives a life which is, by her own admission, rather tame.

Recently, William Earl at Hollywood Life dared to call Miley Cyrus' sexual honesty "refreshing." And he suggested that she may be a far more suitable role model for teen girls than "pop tarts such as Selena Gomez, 19, or Taylor Swift, 21 [who] are obsessed with fluff lyrics and presenting an infantilized version of women which is not realistic. Life for Taylor and Selena may be all lollipops and rainbows, but Miley is much more inspirational to fans who understand that life is filled with hard choices and experimentation. Miley may not be perfect, but who is?"

Who indeed? And isn't it better that teens learn that life is not a PG rated Disney fantasy so that they can be better prepared for it? Isn't a real flesh and blood role model like Miley Cyrus a more realistic icon for maturing teens than the statically sweet but impossibly perfect Selena Gomez? In other words, is Miley "a better role model than some of her too prim and proper peers?"

Amazingly Hollywood Life put the question to the public with an online poll. The results were even more amazing. In response to the question, Is Miley Cyrus a good role model? a whopping 70.57% of the respondents replied "Yes."

So, take that, Haters. And you go, Miley.

Who knew Sir Philip Green was so short? Tiny Miley Cyrus towers over Topshop billionaire

She stands at a petite 5ft 4in, but 18-year-old Disney star Miley Cyrus still stood tall when she was photographed with Topshop tycoon Sir Philip Green.
By her side at the opening of a new Topshop store in Chicago, the billionaire businessman looked surprisingly short as the pair posed for photographs outside the shop.
Smaller still was Sir Philip's 20-year-old Chloe, who has recently signed up to appear in the second series of E4 reality show Made In Chelsea when it returns later this year.


The aspiring fashion designer is dating one of the stars of the hit TV show, Ollie Locke, and is apparently friends with a large portion of the current cast.
Despite her sky high heels, the socialite was even tinier than her father - and Miley stood a head-and-shoulders above her.
Both girls, who stood either side of Sir Philip, went for super trendy looks for the grand opening.


Clad head-to-toe in pieces exclusive to the Chicago store, teen sensation Miley was bang on trend in budget finds such as a shocking pink silk blouse and faux leather skirt with panelling, topping her look off with a pair of black leather ankle boots.
Chloe opted for a more casual but equally fashion-forward look in the form of black and pink printed leggings, a white top, and a long fringed black waistcoat.

Miley's attendance at the event fuelled speculation that she could be next in line for a collaboration with Topshop, though the brand would only say that the Chicago store would carry 'specialised collaborations'.
Miss Cyrus, who ranked at number 18 on Forbes’ Hollywood’s 20 Highest Earners of 2010, with an estimated $48 million in earnings last year, is no stranger to branching out into fashion.
In 2009, design powerhouse Max Azria helped her launch a line for the teenage market, and retail giant Walmart used her brand power to boost a patch of very ordinary sales figures.


It would not be the first time that Sir Philip has used the pulling power of celebrity to tout his wares. In collaborating with Kate Moss, he created one of the most lucrative and hugely successful partnerships in British retail history (with the supermodel reportedly pocketing a cool £3 million too).
Speaking to WWD at the launch today, he said: 'For us, this is a game changer. It moves the brand on. This is a presence on one of the best streets in the world. It's a statement.'
The Chicago store will stock 100 exclusive items themed around the city, including a Windy City nail colour, as well as tees and jersey dresses.


It will rival New York's Broadway flagship in size with over three floors of fashion, 42 fitting rooms and even a DJ booth to keep shoppers entertained while they browse.
And for VIP shoppers (or at least those organised enough to book in) there is a complimentary personal shopping suite staffed with in-store style experts.
Topshop has over 320 stores in the UK and first ventured across the Atlantic in 2009, launching a much anticipated US flagship in SoHo, New York City.
Next up for the retailer is a store in Toronto in October, Australia in December, Brazil next February and Las Vegas in March.

Liam Hemsworth: ‘I prefer to keep Miley Cyrus relationship private’

Liam Hemsworth has spoken about his relationship with Miley Cyrus.
The Hunger Games star revealed that he prefers to keep the details of his relationship with the ‘Party in the USA’ singer private.
“The main thing is that we know how we feel. We know what’s going on. It can get complicated bringing the rest of the world into it,” Hemsworth told Seventeen.
The actor went on to say that honesty is an important part of any successful romance.
“I like to put things on the table. I like when other people do that as well – you don’t really get anywhere if you keep it all bottled up. You need to talk about it,” he said.
Hemsworth recently revealed that he loves surfing, confessing that the sport was “pretty much all that mattered” in his youth.

Miley Cyrus Feels the Love at Wedding

Miley Cyrus attended the wedding of her friends Jen and Ryan and she was so overcome with emotion. In what sounded like a beautiful ceremony, the teen queen went to sleep on Saturday with that lovin’ feeling close to her heart.
“So much love everywhere. What a beautiful day. Goodnight world,” Cyrus tweeted after the wedding on Saturday. Many weddings make people feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and it’s a beautiful thing to be a part of. Obviously Miley felt very close to the bride and groom and she totally let herself enjoy the mood.
At this time, it’s still unknown if Miley was attending the wedding with her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, but it seems like he would have accompanied her to the event. It’s fun to go to a wedding with your significant other and just have a good time together. There is nothing like family, friends, dancing, and great food! It sounds like Miley had a lovely time.

Hollywood is being hacked by Anonymous offshoot

(CBS) - Ugh. Another hacking group hits the scene. This time they're not even attempting a message or purpose. A new faction that claims to be an offshoot of Anonymous named Hollywood Leaks has targeted celebrity emails and Twitter accounts.
The group has leaked phone numbers of entrepreneur Mark Cuban, singer Miley Cyrus and actress Ashley Greene on document sharing site Pastebin. Tom Cruise's latest script for a musical called "Rock of Age" was also released on the Pirate Bay. Nude photos of rap newcomer Kreayshawn were tweeted to over 300,000 followers from her hacked Twitter account while she was at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Thursday morning a release included the email addresses of actor Gerard Butler, rappers Waka Flocka and Lloyd Banks.
All announcements are made through their Twitter account, which is filled with racist and homophobic comments.
A statement given to Gawker's Adrian Chen via email gives insight to their mission, "We're simply here to facilitate the free flow of information from a place which was previously over looked, Hollywood."
According Chen the group isn't particularly tech savvy, "they say they've broken into accounts mostly by guessing bad security questions."
Just from an initial glance at the types of hacks and tweets released, it doesn't seem very Anonymous-like, who usually targets for political reasons. It's most likely a bunch of people who want to pick on famous people, using Anonymous' method of delivery. Either way, they're menacing.
We reached out to Miley Cirus and Gerard Butler to no avail. If hacking history tells us anything, this is just the beginning. Hold on tight to your publicists, celebs. You're going to need them.

Miley gets 3 new tattoos

Miley Cyrus loves tattoos. The Hannah Montana star already has a handful of ink all over her body, and she’s rumored to have gotten three more.
According to reports, Miley has gotten a trio of new tattoos including an anchor on her wrist, a matching tat with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, and an OP sign. These tattoos would bring Miley’s count up to 10.
Miley Cyrus has been known to get tattoos when she’s feeling emotional, or passionate, about something. The Last Song actress has ink that means something to her; such as a tribute to her family, or a gay rights equality symbol.
It seems that Cyrus has been bitten by the tattoo bug. Many other ink enthusiasts have said that the hobby can become addicting, and expensive. It will be interesting to see if, and what, Miley will tattoo on herself next.
Perhaps, she’ll get a tattoo to honor her new niece or nephew on the way? (Brenda Song and Trace Cyrus are expecting.) Hopefully, Miley Cyrus can keep her love of tattoos under control, and not go overboard with the ink.

It's hard to believe summer is nearly over and chillier temperatures are just around the corner. I am a big fan of the warmer weather and it's always a bit depressing to let my sun-kissed glow fade.

Although it's impossible to maintain your natural summer color all year long (unless of course you live in a warmer climate), there are tricks to keeping a healthy bronzed skin tone into the fall. "To extend your tan, make sure to apply a rich moisturizer on your body and an oil free moisturizer on your face," advises Nicole Contos, owner of Manhattan's Smooth Synergy Cosmedical Spa. Keeping skin hydrated is key to maintaining your tan. Nicole also suggests avoiding exfoliating skin treatments and long hot showers - plus try not to go swimming or use the steam bath - all of these are tan zappers.

Hollywood Leaks: The Worst Enemy Of Miley, Tom Cruise And More

Hollywood Leaks, the group responsible for hacking into the phones and emails of celebrities, is making Tinseltown nervous and quickly becoming the worst enemy of Miley Cyrus, Tom Cruise and others.
Hollywood Leaks has already released Miley Cyrus’ cell phone number, a script that Tom Cruise was working on and a topless photo of rapper Kreayshawn, which was apparently taken while underage. Who will be their next target?
The group is posting the hacked information on their own Twitter account and also on various other sites. The topless photo of Kreayshawn was posted by Hollywood Leaks on Kreayshawn’s twitter account — which was hacked into while she was attending the MTV VMAs on Sunday.
Why does this group want to embarrass celebrities and make them a target of obsessed fans? Miley Cyrus can easily change her phone number, but there is no guarantee that the hackers won’t get it again and post it for the world to see. It must make these celebrities, who are used to high levels of security, feel pretty vulnerable.
