Miley Wins J-14 Awards For Iconic Heart and Iconic Tweeter
As we previously reported Miley won the J-14 awards for Iconic Couple with Liam Hemsworth, but one of our visitors sent us a scan of this month’s issue! Miley won the award for Iconic Heart, for her work with the Starkey Hearing Foundation and also Iconic Tweeter.

Miley Cyrus Looks Sweet Posing With Children in Need!
Miley Cyrus looked totally normal and sweet posing with children in Haiti after she gave out hearing aids to the deaf and hard of hearing. This is the teen superstar’s second trip to the poverty striken nation.
Miley is keen to help others, which is great to see in a young starlet as most of them are too caught up in being famous to think of others in need.
On her trip to Haiti, Miley Cyrus opened a school and helped the Starkey Hearing Foundation to distribute over 400 hearing aids to those who were deaf or hearing impaired.
At one point during the trip, a laid back looking Miley, posed with local kids with the slogan “So the world may hear” behind her. It’s not clear if it is a promotional shot or not, but either way she looked adorable with her hair pulled back and a T-shirt on.
Many of the kids in Haiti may have never heard of Miley Cyrus, which might feel nice for someone who is constantly recognized and photographed wherever she goes. It’s a little bit of respite for Miley and a lot of help for the people of Haiti!

We went to Clinton Global Initiative September 19th thru 22nd. It was a very successful meeting for The Starkey Hearing Foundation. Once again it was a whirlwind of amazing people trying to do good work around the world. Sister Rosemary was there from Uganda. Bill, Brady and I introduced her to as many influential people as we could, including Forrester Whittaker, Margaret Albright, Toyota Foundation and even Donna Karen—who is going to buy purses made at Sister’s compound.
At the end of the meeting she ended up with better seats than ours yet we sponsored the meeting! She is a rock star in this arena, a champion for her cause—as Bill is to ours. They’re kindred spirits, these two. We came back home to Starkey Family Technology meetings, birthdays and no down time!
Haiti, with Miley Cyrus
We headed to Haiti on Oct. 2nd, picking up Miley Cyrus and her team in Nashville on the way. She bought this mission at our Gala live auction, plus she personally wanted to go back with us. This young woman with the world at her feet and her feet grounded, was excited about sharing the mission experience she had last February with her family and friends. It was HOT! Hotter than I have ever experienced (and I have been to Vietnam in August!).
At first I thought Miley would never last because of the extreme environment. But Miley was there from the first child to the last. She liked the anonymity—there, she was just Miley, herself, helping another human being with a step up in the world.
Spreading Good
We traveled outside of Port Au Prince, north for a school opening and community development project we help sponsor in Luly with the President of Haiti, Michel Martelly. He was excited about our filming and new message of spreading a “good virus” in the countries we go. There is so much good in the world, people helping people but all we hear is the negative and bad news. We want to share the good news through our missions and mission partners like Miley and Worldwide Village.
The amazing people we meet along the way keep us going and coming back! Like the six deaf bakers—now they all hear! Like Little Emmanuel, 5 years old, who is definitely going to own his own business someday! The human spirit is alive and well!
Back Home
We came back to Minneapolis to another class on Thursday night—75 fittings, done at midnight. Bill got home at 1:45 am (it was the first time ever he left imp boxes on his work bench—and the world did not come to an end!). I am writing this on Friday night Oct 7th, we will have class tomorrow then 250 customers come to the house at 6pm then we leave for Honduras at 7pm to help 2000 people that have been waiting a long time for us!
Purpose Driven Life indeed! It’s a good one!

Miley Cyrus FaceBook Post About Haiti And The Listen Carefully Campaign
Miley has returned from her latest trip to Haiti on behalf of the Starkey Hearing Foundation and she has posted a new article on her Facebook page about Starkey Hearing Foundation and the Listen Carefully Campaign. Check it out below.
Hey guys, I just got back from giving the gift of hearing with the Starkey Hearing Foundation in Haiti. Please help my friends at Starkey Hearing Foundation and their Listen Carefully campaign to promote safe hearing by answering these questions.
1. Have you ever had difficulty hearing your teacher during class?
2. Knowing that teens have an increased risk of hearing loss as a result of using mp3s and iPods at too high a volume, would you take the Starkey Hearing Foundation’s Listen Carefully “Vow to Act” and lower the volume on your player to help protect your hearing?
3. Would you be willing to pass this advice along to your friends, and encourage them to take a “Vow to Act” in order to protect their hearing?

Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, are currently in Haiti!
The teen star is working once again alongside the Starkey Hearing Foundation, and on this trip, she met with President Michel Joseph Martelly at the opening of the Lully Community School in the town of Arcahaie , which was built by the Digicel Foundation as part of the country's new free education initiative!

We really have to commend her for stepping up here and making this cause such a commitment for her!
A lot of other starlets her age could take a page out of her book here - at least when it comes to this!

Miley Cyrus Jets to Haiti for Charity Work
Miley Cyrus has left Nashville, TN and headed south to Haiti to help the Starkey Hearing Foundation. The teen queen is dedicated to doing charity work and with a break in her schedule, she took advantage of her time.
The singer/actress tweeted, “In Haiti with @starkeyhearing (sic)” on Tuesday, letting her fans know that she’s doing her part to help. “We are so lucky to have you here Miley (sic),” the Starkey Hearing Foundation responded. Miley Cyrus always seems to be doing something for the greater good and this is a great example. Whether she’s helping children or lending her time to Starkey, she definitely takes advantage of her celebrity in a positive way.
She was with her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, in Nashville, visiting her family, but it’s unclear if he made the trip to Haiti with her. It doesn’t seem like that’s possible, since he has been working on his new film, The Hunger Games. However, if they both went to Haiti, that would be such an amazing experience for them as a couple.

Earlier this year Miley went to Haiti to show her support, and to get her good on, but now E! Online’s Ken Baker reveals that she will be going back.. possibly with her father Billy Ray who loves to get his good on!This is what Ken Baker had to say:

Miley Cyrus Remembers Haiti In New Blog Post

A year ago the world wept at the devastating images from Haiti. Shortly after the earthquake, I asked all of you in the Get Ur Good On community to support relief efforts in Haiti. I want to thank everyone that answered my call to help by selling bracelets, hosting bake sales, creating music videos, and so much more. It has been 1 year since the earthquake, but there is still work that needs to be done. I want you to continue getting your good on for Haiti and donating the money you raise to organizations that are still helping there like the Red Cross and the J/P Haitian Relief Organization. Remember to share your blogs, pics, and videos on GetUrGoodOn.org; I want to see all the good you’re doing.
