Miley Talks About Get Ur Good On

Is Selena Gomez Trying To Be More Like Miley Cyrus?

Selena may not be decked out in bondage gear and taking off her clothes like Miley, but she seems to be following the same music and movie track of her Disney predecessor!

Miley Cyrus has transitioned from Disney star to serious actor and singer in the past few years, making some serious money in the process! The 18-year-old pulled in a whooping $15 million in 2010, and it seems like at least one young star is trying to follow in her super successful footsteps — Selena Gomez!

Selena recently wrapped filming on her hit show, Wizards of Waverly Place, and is now starring in her first major film, Monte Carlo. Much like Miley, after she finished filming Hannah Montana, starred in the well received The Last Song. Worked well for Miley and it looks like it will work for Selena. Miley has since shot LOL: Laughing Out Loud and So Undercover, transitioning from television star to movie star. Selena is no doubt hoping to do exactly the same.
Miley also became more involved in her music career after leaving her show, just like Selena is now doing. Miley’s songs were featured in The Last Song just like Selena’s will be in Monte Carlo. Furthermore, Selena is embarking on a major tour, just like Miley did, in support of her new album.
As for extracurricular activities, Selena hosted the MuchMusic Video Awards in 2011, just like Miley did in 2010.
There are also the high profile relationships which, while in no way planned, hugely help the visibility of these young stars. Selena and boyfriend Justin Bieber are the young Hollywood couple of the moment, much like Miley and beau Liam Hemsworth once were.
Miley did alienate some fans with her more grown up image as she moved away from Hannah Montana, but her success has been undeniable. Therefore, it seems like she would be the perfect person for Selena to emulate as she tries to further her career.

[NEWS] Ladyhawke niece sings a winner, wins Miley Cyrus tickets

The singing Masterton niece of charting star Ladyhawke is to wing her way to a Miley Cyrus concert in Sydney after winning a nationwide video contest.
Solway Primary School pupil Georgia Bain, 10, said her father Matthew had encouraged her to pen and perform the lyrics for a 30-second video song about why she should get to see her favourite artist Miley Cyrus at the Acer Theatre in Sydney on Monday night.
Her grandfather Frank Bain, a veteran Masterton musician and music teacher, lay down a melody for the video, which her dad shot and submitted to the Pick Me contest on The Erin Simpson Show that screens for children on TV2 every weekday afternoon.
Writing, singing and shooting the 30-second video was not difficult, Georgia said, as she is a genuine fan of the young American singer, who is the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, of Achy Breaky Heart fame.
“I sing about reading all her books and seeing all her shows and it’s true, I have. And how my Miley duvet cover matches my clothes, because it does.”
Georgia said her mother Angela, like her grandfather, has a musical lineage and her aunt, Pip Brown – aka Ladyhawke – has been told of the win and passed on her congratulations.
The song she helped to compose and the starring role in the music video, Georgia said, were her first after only ever singing around the family home and at school.
Nicola Eaton, spokeswoman for The Erin Simpson Show, said the winning video beat about 200 entries from across New Zealand.
Georgia would be interviewed via Skype after she returned from the concert, Ms Eaton said, and the winning video is available to view on TV2 On Demand and You Tube.

Miley hits the hotspots for a night out

MILEY Cyrus had a night on the town on Friday, partying with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth at Prahran nightclub Boutique.
The couple and a group of friends arrived at the club after 1am and didn't leave until after 3.30am.
It's rare for Cyrus, 18, to be at a nightclub because the minimum age of entry in the US, where she lives, is 21.
There was no hint of any diva-like behaviour and she was pleasant and friendly to everyone.
The group was made up of mainly Hemsworth's friends.
The actor grew up in Phillip Island, but is based in Los Angeles.
Cyrus, who was in Melbourne for her Gypsy Heart tour, stayed with Hemsworth in the VIP booth the entire night.

Justin Bieber & Miley Cyrus Both Attacked In Public — Have Fans Gone Too Far?

Miley and Justin both become victims of fan attacks — are fans getting too crazy and out of control?

Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus both have incredibly passionate and dedicated fan, some so passionate that they go overboard! On June 23, Justin was tackled by an undercover cop who was nervous about the young singer’s safety at an event marking the launch of his first female fragrance, Someday. Then, on June 24, Miley was rushed offstage in Melbourne when a young fan came up behind her as she performed her hit song “The Climb.” Have their fans gotten too crazy?
Of course, almost all of Miley and Justin’s fans are terrific, law abiding, citizens. There seem to be more and more however, and not just with Miley and Justin, that have gone to far. All this no doubt making young celebrities incredibly, incredibly nervous!
Watch the videos of Justin and Miley and let us know — have fans gone too far?

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth travel in style

TEEN queen Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth stepped things up a notch when they fled Melbourne by helicopter to visit the parents in Phillip Island yesterday.
After a rocking performance at her first Melbourne show at Rod Laver Arena on Thursday night, the couple headed to Hemsworth's parents' house for some down time before her second Gypsy Heart show last night.
It was a family affair, with actor Hemsworth's folks, Leonie and Craig, joining the couple and Cyrus's mum, Tish, back on the chopper.

Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth: Chapel Street Sweethearts

Miley Cyrus leans into Liam Hemsworth as they run into some friends while out and about on Chapel Street in Melbourne, Australia on Thursday afternoon (June 23).
The twosome met up with a large group of friends, which included mom Tish, at Jam Factory before heading out to lunch at Kazbar.
Before you start to worry, Miley WILL be continuing her tour into Chile. She and her team will be chartering an old-fashioned twin-engine propeller aeroplane in Australia so they can fly under the Chilean volcanic ash cloud and continue her tour.
The ash cloud has caused mayhem with Aussie domestic flights, with scores of scheduled departures being cancelled leaving thousands of passengers stranded.

Billy Ray Cyrus - Cyrus Opens Up Tennessee Farm For Tv Barbecue

Billy Ray Cyrus opened up his Tennessee home to 60 military families to give them a barbecue to remember.
The Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker staged the get together last year (10) at his Singing Hills farm in Franklin for an episode of his new TV show.
He says, "This was kind of our way of saying thank you to the troops and the men and women for their sacrifice. Really, I just wanted to show 'em a good time.
"We did have a barbecue, it was a pork barbecue with chicken and watermelon. It was just a great summer picnic.
"The farm where I live is called Singing Hills and it's a very personal part of my life and I just wanted to share it with the troops."
Cyrus admits his new Tlc network show, Homecoming, in which he visits U.S. troops and their families across the world, has left him "humbled".

Review on Miley's Brisbane concert

MUSIC: Miley Cyrus. Brisbane Entertainment Centre, June 22.
DURING the past 18 months, Australian audiences have been treated to performances by the three biggest tween sensations on the planet: Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and now Miley Cyrus.
It's Cyrus who is working hardest to shrug off the tag, with her new material going toe to toe with the likes of Britney and Beyonce for pop supremacy.
Opening her concert with Liberty Walk, the 18-year-old embraces her post Hannah Montana life with a strut that won't be sanctioned by Disney. Thigh-high boots, leather shorts, killer heels and a black bustier set the visual tone as Cyrus rocks out with a band that includes a twin guitar attack, bass, drums, keys and two backing vocalists.
The on-stage ensemble is fleshed out by an army of dancers busting out choreographed moves as Cyrus hits a groove more in common with the late 1980s LA glam rock scene than the gloss of contemporary pop.
Her anthem Party in the USA comes early and the crowd, already on their feet, will remain so for the rest of the night. As audience members wave their glow sticks, Cyrus leads the band through a rocking Kicking and Screaming, complete with a light show that should come with an epilepsy warning.
Next is a tribute to Joan Jett as Cyrus romps through the teen rebellion trio of I Love Rock 'n' Roll, The Runaways' Cherry Bomb and Bad Reputation. It's strange to see Cyrus unleash her inner wild child before the audience, one-third of whom are under 12.
There's a quick costume change before Cyrus re-emerges with Poison's Every Rose Has Its Thorn.
The backdrop has gone from industrial to something more gothic. Her own Obsessed veers towards Meatloaf territory as Cyrus is joined on stage by dancers proffering a mawkish routine that's out of context with the night's consistently good choreography.
Fly on the Wall sees Cyrus back on track, while other highlights include 7 Things and Scars. The latter features Sin City-style graphics and it's here where Cyrus falls to her knees, tears off her torsolette and essentially drives a stake though the heart of Hannah Montana.
A strange transgenerational moment follows, with Cyrus leading the band through a song older than herself, Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit. The cover is admirable, the band tear it up and the tweens wave their glow sticks.
Still, for anyone over 40, there's an odd sense of some postmodern joke being played here.
The show dips a little in the second half, though Cyrus gives it lift with The Climb, a cover of Fleetwood Mac's Landslide and an encore that included My Heart Beats for Love.
Kudos where it's due: Cyrus has taken whatever preconceptions this reviewer had and tipped them on their ear. While there was barely a lick or a move on stage that hasn't been seen before, it hardly matters.
She's a belter in the live arena: there's a good balance between her own hits and covers and, most crucially, for any artist in any age, Cyrus has demonstrated the ability to reinvent herself.
Melbourne, today and tomorrow; Sydney, Sunday and Monday; Adelaide, June 29; Perth, July 2.

Alison came back out a bit later and we asked him some questions and got photos with him (AHAHA) it was cool! He was so nice :)

OH YEAH WE COULD HEAR SOUNDCHECK! She did Driveway, Liberty Walk, Stay and If it makes you happy by sheryl crow!
We also saw Miley, Tish and Liam leave the entertainment center about 4pm, probably to have dinner out before the show :)
—————
OUR SEATS WERE AMAZING OMG OMG. And just before Miley came on, Alison video’d everyone on stage then went through the WHOLE crowd and made sure he
got as many people in it as possible.
OH YEAH BEFORE THE SHOW STARTED WE SAW MILEY STANDING TO THE SIDE LOOKING AT THE CROWD. PEOPLE WERE SCREAMING AND SHE WAS

Gypsy Heart Tour grounded

Miley's tour has been grounded due to volcanic ashes interrupting Australian air travel. They are planning a 24-hour road trip from Brisbane to Melbourne tonight.

Volcanic ash: Sydney flights cancelled

The volcanic ash cloud that has lingered over Australia for 10 days has reached Sydney –- and most flights are off.

All Qantas and Jetstar domestic flights to and from Sydney after 3 p.m. today have been cancelled, while international flights are under review.

Canberra flights after midday have been suspended, Adelaide flights after 2 p.m. are off and Newcastle flights after 3 p.m. have also been canned. The cloud is threatening to disrupt Queensland and Victorian flight schedules.

Tiger Airways has grounded its entire Australian fleet and the disruptions at the nation's major airport are expected to cause significant delays around the country.

Volcanic ash is detrimental to jet engine performance and can lead to engine failure.

Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth = definitely back on

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth may be coy about their relationship in the press but the two have no problem showing their love in public.
The on-again, off-again lovers were spotted shopping together in Sydney, Australia during a break from Miley’s Gypsy Heart tour. Miley, who was dressed for Australia’s mild winter in a cardigan and a leopard scarf, looked at clothes and trinkets in between snuggles with her actor beau.

Miley and Liam first began dating when they met on the set of The Last Song back in 2009. The two dated for almost a year before they called things off in late October, just a few weeks before Miley’s 18th birthday. However, the pair were rumored to be back together earlier this year when they were spotted hanging out together near Los Angeles. Miley also dropped a hint that the two were back together when she made a reference to Hunger Games – the highly-anticipated movie in which Liam was cast – on her Twitter.

Hopefully Liam can keep his lady happy since the former Disney star has a tendency to trash ex-boyfriends. The “Can’t Be Tamed” singer allegedly ripped up a photo of ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas during a Mexico City concert back in May.
Liam is currently taking a break from filming Hunger Games in North Carolina. The studly Australian isn’t the only Hunger Games castmember who is dating a former Disney star – co-star Josh Hutherson is currently seeing High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens.

Miley Cyrus circus hits town with a boom and her mum Tish

SHE might have just travelled halfway around the world for her first Australian tour but yesterday nothing kept Miley Cyrus from a day of girly fun with mum Tish in Sydney.
The Hannah Montana star and singer, who opens the Australian leg of her Gypsy Heart tour in Brisbane tomorrow night, slipped into town early yesterday and wasted no time grabbing a table at paparazzi-magnet
Otto where mum and daughter ordered seafood and salads. Evading photographers, they bypassed the boardwalk and made a sneaky exit through the Blue Hotel before jumping in a waiting van which whizzed them to Darlinghurst for serious retail therapy.
Cyrus, whose estimated net worth is said to be nudging $1 billion, blazed through a chunk of it at design store Matt Blatt before picking up a few items at sass & bide, Kate Sylvester and Shakuhachi.
“She paid for everything with a black American Express card,” one eagle-eyed spy said.
“At one point she opened her wallet and realised she didn’t have it but a minder ran back to the van and found it in there.”
After a three-hour shopping session, the Cyrus duo returned to her Four Seasons room. There was no sign of Cyrus’s Aussie beau Liam Hemsworth, said to be joining her during her tour.
Meanwhile Tish, who is chaperoning 18-year-old Miley on her world tour, recently halted divorce proceedings with husband and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.

Miley Cyrus rumoured to be relaxing in Queensland ahead of her Australian tour

TEEN pop sensation Miley Cyrus slipped quietly into Sydney over the weekend and now has everyone wondering where she is.

TV Presenter Writes About Meeting Miley

It was a Wednesday when our boss told us Miley Cyrus will guest on "Eat Bulaga." I got excited because I am a big fan of Miley's movie "The Last Song" and I really dance to some of her songs when I do numbers in "Bulaga." I can't really say I'm a die-hard Milester (lol, Milester), since I prefer different genres until... I met her in person.
Thursday came. I got up, tweeted my followers to tune in to "Eat Bulaga" because Miley Cyrus will promote her concert. I did my morning routine, got in my car and drove to Broadway Studios. I rushed going up to our Broadway expecting she was already there. I saw familiar faces who I don't regularly see in the studio, like Mara Sotto, Bossing Vic's niece. And yes, she was so excited to see Miley, too.
Finally, the show started. I hosted this portion called "PNV." Right after the portion, I went straight to the host's room. People were talking about Miley's arrival. There were comments like ''She's so tall!" and "She has never ending legs!" and that made me more curious. I never imagined Miley to be so tall really. Well, of course, next to boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, she really looked tiny. Anyhow, another gap has passed. I was eating my lunch when our P.A. Ira told me that Pia and I are going to interview Miley. Pia was so excited for me but I wasn't. These words came out of my mouth "Huh? Bakit ako? Si Allan K (another Bulaga host) na lang!" Weird huh? Don't get me wrong guys. I really like her, but fear and nervousness crept in. I was thrilled and scared at the same time! I've only had two chances of interviewing singers from Hollywood and Miley's the third. Others famous Hollywood personalities I interviewed on the show were Kris Allen and Nicole Scherzinger. YES, I sure am lucky! (Debateable, tbh)

Finally, the time came. There I was introducing MILEY CYRUS! What was my first reaction when I saw her? Well, aside from getting goosebumps, I noticed she's REALLY tall! If I'm not mistaken, she must be about 5'8''! She was taller than Pia Guanio and I! Totally not how I imagined her to be. She was very warm and sweet. She smelled good too! The moment she came out of the LCD, she walked towards us, waved to her fans, kissed and hugged us. She answered all the questions we asked her. Other Hollywood celebrities can only be asked three questions and luckily, she's not one of them.
She looked really pleased because the fans in the studio went ballistic! They were so, so happy to see her. They were chanting her name and singing her songs! And finally, the interview ended with another kiss and a hug, which she initiated and this time, tighter. She really is one sweet young lady. After the interview, we went backstage and guess what? She was nice enough to allow us to have our picture taken with her.
I can just imagine the stress of flying to a country halfway around the world and going to a noon time show just to promote. But there she was, smiling and making us feel like she's one of us. That yes, she is a star but she shines because of her pleasing attitude. She even told me to watch her concert! What an experience. Boy, never in my entire life did I imagine having even a short conversation with a Hollywood star! But thanks to Miley, it happened.
Meeting Miley Cyrus was such a humbling and amazing experience. I'll never look at her the same way ever again. She really is something. Now I can really say, I am a very, very big fan. Keep it up Miley! We love you!

This article is written slightly strangely but as English is this woman's second language, I think it's just been translated a bit oddly.

Grownup Miley thrills, moves audience of girl teens

It was one big girls-night-out at SM Mall of Asia on Friday, as teen pop superstar Miley Cyrus’ “Gypsy Heart Tour” made its sole Asian stop in Manila.
The Mall of Asia concert ground was literally a sea of teens in their four-inch heels, and eight-year-olds decked out in bright outfits being photographed by their equally stylish moms.

Seated in front of me were three bespectacled girls who didn’t look a day over 10. They had glittery guitars painted on their cheeks, and wore homemade shirts that said, “I’ve got the Cyrus virus!” They seemed the most pumped of all the kids that night, hoisting their posters and shouting “We want Miley!” every so often.

The trio had to hold in their excitement a little longer, though, as front acts Sam Concepcion and Elmo Magalona took the stage to set the night’s mood. While the kids were generally disinterested, their older counterparts rose to their feet and gushed over the local heartthrobs who sang, danced and rapped to Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never.”

Miley’s entrance was without theatrics or fancy stage work, her mere presence on stage was enough to make the crowd erupt into ear-splitting shrieks. Even the office people from a nearby building strained through their windows to catch a glimpse of the 18-year-old rock star.

Channeling a rocker chick vibe in her white embellished jacket and black leather hot pants, Miley kicked off the show with the bold beats of her female empowerment anthem, “Liberty Walk,” which saw her rapping some verses.
When her five-piece band followed up with the opening strains of “Party in the USA,” Miley took off her jacket revealing a racy studded bra. She darted across the stage–grinding and thrusting her hips whenever she sang the words “Moving my hips like yeah!” Needless to say, all the kids and teens were up jamming with their idol.

A few parents were visibly taken aback upon seeing Miley’s dance moves. Perhaps they were expecting to see the innocent Disney girl they used to watch on one of the world’s most successful teen franchises, “Hannah Montana.” But Miley had long shed her schmaltzy ‘tween image to explore her sexier, more mature side. And this concert, more than anything, showed just how much she had come into her own.

After giving the crowd a few more rock and dance-ready tunes like “Robot” and “Kicking and Screaming,” Miley slowed the show’s tenor with a restrained cover of Poison’s power rock ballad, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” She sustained the somber mood with heartfelt performances of her own ballads, “Obsessed” and “Forgiveness and Love.”

She then tackled one crowdpleaser after another in her set, which included her 2008 pop rock single “7 Things,” “Fly on the Wall,” “Scars,” and “Two More Lonely People.”

Aside from her original songs, Miley also paid homage to some of her idols in the music biz. She did a fair rendition of Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock ’n Roll,”

“Cherry Bomb” and “Bad Reputation,” but lacked sufficient edge to give justice to Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” She redeemed herself when she reverted to her country roots with a nuanced performance of Stevie Nick’s “Landslide.”

Miley’s performance on “Can’t Be Tamed” proved to be a visual spectacle with a flurry of colored lights and topnotch dancing from her backups. With the controversial music video being displayed on the giant LCD screen, Miley, who had changed into a purple outfit with matching walking stick, displayed her exceptional command of the stage as she worked the crowd to raucous cheers.

Miley’s singing voice has received significant flak over the years for being nasal and fragile. But during her performance of “The Climb” from “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” she showed her mettle, hitting all the inspirational ballad’s challenging passages and high notes. Even more commendable was that she managed to do this at the end of her set that lasted more than one and a half hours.

To shouts of “more, more,” Miley returned in a red-hot costume and sang three more songs—
See You Again,” “My Heart Beats For Love” and “Who Owns My Heart.”

Earlier, Miley thanked the crowd for their amazing support, telling them: “I hope you guys will walk away inspired to do whatever you guys want to do in your life. Everything starts with a dream.”

Dream come true for Miley Cyrus's first-ever Australian tour

MILEY Cyrus is on a "mission" for her fans. The world's biggest tween sensation will today touchdown in Brisbane for her first-ever Australian tour, Gypsy Heart.
For the next fortnight, every move the Hannah Montana star makes will be tracked by her legion of followers as she crisscrosses the country performing her show, which includes two concerts in Sydney at Acer Arena.
She's also rumoured to be meeting up with her ex-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth while Down Under.
Hemsworth's older brother, Thor star Chris, indicated the on-off pair would be reuniting - a bonus for the paparazzi.
"He was going to (tour with her in Australia) but I'm not sure," Chris said earlier this month.
"The Gypsy Heart tour is a dream come true. Not only because of all the beautiful cities I will get to visit, but all of the beautiful people I will get to meet," Cyrus has said.
Cyrus, born Destiny Hope Cyrus, has sold millions of albums and enjoyed success in television, film and music. Australia is a massive market for the 18-year-old, who has released 10 albums and had hits with tracks including The Climb and Party In The USA.
The daughter of country crooner Billy Ray Cyrus, the singer had a few smaller acting roles before becoming a virtual overnight success in 2006 thanks to the Disney Channel's Hannah Montana series.
She is now one of the pop world's biggest stars, earning a reported $54 million over the past 12 months.
But success has come at a cost for Cyrus. The Disney star has grown up in the public eye, a prime target for paparazzi with her every move followed. And she's slipped up plenty of times, courting controversy.
In December last year, video was released of Cyrus allegedly smoking a bong filled with salvia - a powerful hallucinogenic herb - legally available for sale in California. Her dad took to Twitter to express his disappointment. He wrote: "I'm so sad. There is much beyond my control right now."
Rumours also circulated she was a lesbian after Cyrus posted photographs on Myspace of her almost kissing a girlfriend. Of that incident, she said: "For me, I was like, that's two girls - it's not a big deal. But they got spread around."
Miley Cyrus will perform at the Sydney Acer Arena on June 26 and 27. Click here for tickets

Miley Christ giving flawless answers

"I FEEL like I’m on a game show,'' Miley Cyrus said as press con host and MYX VJ Nikki Gil picked questions for her out of a fishbowl.

It was the day before her concert at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds and Miley was sitting inside Martinis in Mandarin Oriental for a quick press conference. "I’m a little thrown off `coz of the time difference but it's awesome,'' Miley said.

The concert is part of her Corazon Gitano (Gypsy Heart) tour and the Philippines is the tour’s only stop in Asia.

"It's my first time here but my brother’s been here before and he told me that the crowd is awesome."

After Manila, Miley is off to Australia for a few shows before heading back to the US for a break.

Miley gamely answered questions from the press, speaking very fast and talking with her hands. She comes off smart and strong, opinionated and in control. She leaves you with no doubt that her days as Hannah Montana are long over—she's all grown up now.

She even has a grown up way of dealing with fame and the persistent paparazzi. "I deserve respect, I'm a person. You just draw boundaries, respect other people and you do it in a way that is sweet and they don't want to be mean to you or write bad things. If you demand respect, you get it."

Although she's lived with fame for almost half her life, Miley seems level-headed and well-adjusted. And unlike a lot of celebrities her age, she refuses to turn herself into an internet reality show. "People don't have to know what I eat everyday or what time I'm going to sleep or what I’m doing every second."

After the press con, MCA Music Inc. presented her with a platinum award for her albums "Can't Be Tamed," "The Time Of Our Lives" and "Breakout," she said, "Thank you. This is definitely going up in my house," she said.

Miley says she's learned to live with "creepy dudes hiding in bushes," rumors and misconceptions about her – because in the end, it's her work that matters. "If I'm creating, I'm happy."

How are you liking Manila so far? Have you had the chance to explore?

The fans have been amazing. I went to a show this morning and saw some fans there and they're all super stoked, they all had their signs. I just think it's great when people are excited. I think it helps when it's your first time coming somewhere. I haven't gotten too much time to explore because we got in so late last night. But after this, we're just gonna go explore. My mom the first thing she wants to do is go shopping of course so we'll probably end up doing that later.

What was your most memorable concert or gig?

Probably playing with Joan Jett. I was on Oprah for one of her final shows. It was "Women Who Rock." It was amazing just to be there with women who have been around and who have made women rockers possible.

How does it feel to travel around the world and sing your songs to people who don't even speak the same language?

I think it's amazing. I was really nervous the first time I was in South America. What keeps me going and gives me the energy is the fans singing along and relating. And I find it totally incredible that they sing along even when you don't think that they could and I see people getting really emotional, you see people laugh, you see people cry during the songs. They totally get it. It's more a spiritual connection. We're not necessarily speaking the same language because I let my music speak for itself. It's kind of hard too because I like talking to the fans… but when you tell people to stand up and get loud, everyone knows that. Everyone gets up.

If you weren't in the entertainment industry, what would you be doing now?

I love photography and I love to travel. I love being able to share pictures with fans who may never get to go to these places. I love that and I love fashion so I'd like to take pictures and be involved in the fashion industry too. I know the pictures I like to take, any kind of art, I like super natural and more hippie styles and bringing back the 70s, that's kind of the style I like also.

What was your childhood dream?

This, always this. I was always excited to learn about every aspect of this industry. I always wanted to be a singer, I always wanted to act, I always wanted to produce, I always wanted to write. I always wanted to create things even if not for me as an artist but for other artists. And performing has always been my main one. I always wanted to perform.

What is love?

Love is someone who doesn't always try to give you answers. Sometimes love is just listening. That's something that I've learned a lot, sometimes that's the thing you need the most, to just have someone to listen. Friendship has to be the core of whatever kind of love that you're looking for. Just trust and honesty. Trust is our glue.

Is there anyone in particular…

…that I'm in love with? You know… you know… who knows? Maybe.

You left Twitter but came back when you started this new tour. What's changed about your tweeting style?

I shut my Twitter off just when I was home in LA for a few weeks after South America and before coming here. Everything is okay in moderation. I think it's really good for artists especially musicians because we get a completely different connection with our fans and you feel like you really know them. But you don't have to tweet every single thing you're doing, you don't have to tweet about your private life because it's not private anymore and it's not personal. I don't really care what someone is doing 24/7. I don't think anyone cares what I'm doing 24/7, so I think just using it when it's that time to connect with your fans and you stop using it when it's time to disconnect and just be real for a little bit.

And by the way, once it's deleted, there's another Twitter page that is only the deleted tweets so something is never really deleted. So really read it twenty times before you put it out because it's never gone forever. And it's kind of scaring me, putting something on the internet, especially I just got a million followers. To know that a million people are right away gonna read something, even something that I didn't double check, I think that it's really safer to reread your stuff and know that you can stand by whatever statement you make.

Will you still be tweeting after the tour?

I've got a few things coming up after my break. I think it's good to keep the fans informed of what's going on and of causes that are important to me and things that are going on in the world that are important to me. You can say a lot of things, you can reach a lot of people and it's nice to be able to share your opinion.

How do you deal with fame? Do you still get alone time with your family and friends?

It's super important to have that. No matter what, there's always gonna be paparazzi in LA but you make limits. Here's my limit, this is my family time, this is my friend time, this is for me personally and nobody else and if they don't follow the rules then they get into some problems. If you demand respect, you get it. I don't love weird creepy dudes hiding in bushes and taking pictures of me in my bathing suit and then someone judging me on who looks better in the same bathing suit as me. It's stupid, it's ignorant, it's such a waste of space. There's so many great things out there to read and you spend your time reading that'; I don't know. I just block that out especially if you're in my position because it sucks.

Do you ever get stressed? Have you ever wanted to take a break from it all?

I don't really get stressed from my work. I think life in general is harder than what I do because constantly I'm just creating and if I'm creating, I'm happy. There's always gonna be times when you don't understand why things are said about you or sometimes people just don't get it. But as an artist, it's our job to create what we love and what we want to say. It's life, just the silly things in life. You shouldn't sweat the small stuff and I couldn't do that sometimes and I have to remind myself that I've dealt with so many bigger challenges and this is not as important.

So you've never reached a breaking point and said, "this isn't worth it anymore"?

When I'm performing, I just remember that feeling and I know it's worth it. And also sometimes I get stressed, "What am I doing with my life?" I know there are bigger things I should be doing in life even though people think I'm already doing the greatest thing that there can be – that people know me and I'm selling records – but I know there are greater things. You have to take everything and say, I can use this. If I wanna take time and just go do charity work, I can. And I can take my family on good vacations and shut it down for a little while and not feel like I constantly have to work or do things that I don't enjoy. I'm not a new kid in LA. I've worked hard, I can take time to take a break.

Have you ever disappointed your parents?

If anyone says they haven't disappointed their parents, they're lying. I think the worst time I made them really really upset was when my little sister was born and my brother and I were kind of jealous of the new baby. We went down and we broke a window. And my dad was like, "You vandalized! And not only did you vandalize, you vandalized your own home! How dumb are you?" We had a tree house and we hid in our tree house for a few hours but then we needed snacks so we had to go home. Usually my dad just gives us talks and we move on and try to learn from it.

What about as a grownup?

Now my mom does the adult choice talking to. There are always times when they're not excited about your choices but me and my family, we're all different. My brother just got his entire face tattooed, I wish he didn't have that on his face but my mom was like, this is who he is and this is his DNA and this is what I created and this is the person he's become. She just loves us for who we are and I have the greatest parents just because of that.

What is the biggest conception about Miley Cyrus?

There's lots of things that people have made up about me. But the most is how people could think that I do the things I do for shock value or for attention. I never do. My dad always says, "If everything you comes from a place of love, you will always succeed no matter what." (They think that) I do love the paparazzi, I do love the media, I do love the rumors because I don't. Quite frankly I think it's the worst part of the industry but it's never gonna change. You just have to take it all in and love it. Some days you're not gonna be totally happy with how things turn out but that's probably the biggest misconception—that people think I want that kind of attention. No one wants to be talked negatively about. I don't know who would in their right mind.

Trace Cyrus Confirms “Miam”

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth quietly rekindled their romance earlier this spring, and the teen queen’s brother Trace couldn’t be happier for the budding power couple.

“We’re homies,” Trace, 22, told Us Weekly Thursday of his friendship with Hemsworth, 21. “I support my sister in anything she does.”

Miley, 18, began dating The Hunger Games’ Hemsworth in late 2009 when they costarred in The Last Song; they broke up the following August, though they were spotted making out in Cyrus’ Mercedes Benz SUV one month later.

His sister’s love life aside, Trace told Us things are better than ever in the Cyrus household (his parents reconciled in March, just five months after patriarch Billy Ray filed for divorce).

“Everything is good,” the former Metro Station rocker said during the Billabong Design for Humanity Event in Hollywood. “We’re tight, so that’s all the matters. Life is good, so I can’t complain.”

Trace, who currently fronts the band Ashland HIGH, added that his sister recently recorded a song for his next album. “The song with Miley is called ‘Shot in the Dark.’ It will be out soon,” he teased. “It will be a single for sure!”

Miley: Yes, I'm in love!

She arrived from Los Angeles the night before and yet, when she appeared in Eat, Bulaga! yesterday to invite her fans to watch her concert tonight at the SM Mall Of Asia (MOA) Concert Grounds, Miley Cyrus was full of life and energy even if, she said, she slept only for two hours, bugged as she was by jetlag from the long haul. (She’s leaving tomorrow.)

“I chatted with my fans on the Net,” she revealed.

That’s what she always does to end most of her days — update her fans around the world on what she did during the past 24 hours and what she’s doing in the next 24 hours.

“But I do it in moderation,” she qualified. “Anything is okay in moderation, you know. I tweet when I’m working and I turn it off when I’m home.”

Latest entry in her Twitter account (quoted verbatim): In Manila =]]] This time difference is wackinggg me out! Went to sleep at 6 am and woke up at 7:30 am!

The Philippines is the only Asian country included on her Corazon Gitano (Gypsy Heart) World Tour which has already wowed such Latin countries as Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Panama and others.

Asked by Funfare Update why “only the Philippines” during an exclusive one-on-one (The STAR was the only paper given the honor) after her presscon yesterday at a Mandarin Oriental bar to which she had rushed from her Bulaga! guesting, Miley broke into the same warm and friendly smile that she flashed for Bulaga! viewers and the media guys who filled up the venue.

It’s awesome,” she said of the reception.

She must love the Philippines so much to include it on her tour.

It was my fans in the Philippines who kind of kept tweeting me and asking when I was coming. I thought I’d never make it here so soon but here I am and I’m excited.

Unlike last week when The STAR had an exclusive phone interview with her in L.A. when she sounded sleepy (just out of bed at noon on that sunny day), during yesterday’s interview she was lively and so alive.

“I don’t know why I’m so hyper,” she said.

How did she feel waking up yesterday morning halfway around the world from where she came from?

“It was a bit confusing. It was nearing noon here and in L.A. it was nearing midnight, so I had to check the time difference.” (The Philippines is 16 hours ahead of California.)

She had 24 hours to spare before her MOA concert tonight, so what did she plan to do?

“Oh, I guess I will just lie by the pool.” (She’s billeted at a Makati five-star hotel with her entourage that includes her mom who, according to Funfare Update sources, has done some shopping in malls nearby.) “I will just hang out with my friends.”

I wondered, has Miley worked with any Filipinos?

“Yes,” she said, “I have. In fact, two of my dancers who are performing with me on my concert are Filipino. They have relatives here whom they haven’t met because they’ve never been to the Philippines and this is their chance to meet them.”

And what has she heard about the Philippines?

“I haven’t.”

SMiley happily receives from your columnist a copy of The STAR’s June 12, 2011 issue carrying the exclusive Conversation with her done by phone last week in L.A.
I told her that teenagers around the world look up to her as a role model. How does she feel about it?

“I think of myself as just very lucky that I am able to do the things that teenagers like me love to do. I love it that I can connect to millions of girls through my Twitter. But you can’t take away the fact that teenagers look up to me as their role model.”

Any piece of advice to girls who want to follow in her footsteps?

“As I’ve been telling my sisters, just wait it out and enjoy what you’re doing and perfect your craft. If you want to be a singer, just enjoy it.”

A question most of Miley’s fans have been wanting to ask her but didn’t have the chance to — how would she define love?

Miley smiled. “I think it’s someone who’s always there to listen to you.” (Two of the guys who have been romantically linked to Miley were Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, her leading man in the movie The Last Song.)

And the Big Question: Is she in love at the moment?

Miley, who’s turning 19 in November, broke into another big smile and admitted, “Yes, I’m in love,” pausing before adding, “I’m in love with myself, I’m in love with what I’m doing, I’m in love with life. I’m happy performing, I’m doing what I love. There’s nothing that I can complain about.”
